COOKING TIPS
Bison meat is very easy to cook, and we do want your bison experience to be as wonderful as we know it can be. Therefore, with each product we ship to you, we will include helpful hints.
Properly cooked, bison will not shrink like beef because there is very little fat to be cooked off. Bison burgers and steaks should be cooked at a lower temperature than beef, and should also be turned more frequently to avoid drying. The recommended temperature for roasting is 275° (versus 325° for beef).
Slowly cooked in liquids, bison is perfect for the traditional Yankee Pot Roast or stew. For best results, meat should be defrosted before cooking.
